During good times and bad, the Secretary of State has a responsibility to create an environment that is welcoming to small and new business in Georgia. In addition, it is the Secretary of State’s responsibility to ensure the integrity and security of our elections process. I will share some of my ideas below and add details as we progress – but I also want to hear from you. If you have any idea’s, thoughts or concerns about what you would like to see in your next Secretary of state – please go to my contacts page and drop me a line.

Business:

  • Create a “re-location” liaison to work with the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development and Chambers of Commerce to attract new business to Georgia.
  • Streamline the business licensing process to ensure state government is not a hindrance to entrepreneurship and job growth.
  • Implement and continue the suspension of certain fees levied on Georgia businesses that create new jobs until unemployment numbers return to normal.
  • Reform the professional licensing process to make it more efficient and respectful of individuals’ time.

Elections:

  • Conduct a thorough and independent audit of Georgia’s $50+ million voting system to ensure it is the most secure and fair system available.
  • Maintain and defend the states laws that require a photo ID be shown at the polls.
  • Require proof that all newly registered voters are American Citizens.
  • Work with local elections boards to be sure they have the resources needed to avoid long lines and create a more secure polling location.
