Doug MacGinnitie launches campaign iPhone App

Doug MacGinnitie, Republican candidate for Georgia Secretary of State, announced today the launch of a campaign iPhone App. The application is available for free in the Apple App Store.  MacGinnitie is the first statewide candidate in Georgia to launch an iPhone App.

“I’m proud to launch this tool today that will help connect our campaign with supporters statewide,” said MacGinnitie. “One of my goals throughout this campaign and in office is to take a private sector approach, including new technology to improve efficiency.”

The application will allow supporters to sign-up to volunteer, sign-up others, donate, get the latest campaign news, and learn more about Doug’s background. It also allows users to instantly follow Doug’s Twitter feed.

The application was designed by The Intersect Group, a technology design firm based in Sandy Springs.

MacGinnitie co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer for Beecher Carlson, a commercial insurance brokerage firm based in Atlanta.  He is a graduate of Emory Law School, worked as an associate at Alston & Bird, was the Chief Counsel for Georgia Pacific, and served as General Counsel for Hobbs Group.

Doug attended elementary and high school in DeKalb County. Doug and his wife, Missy, have three children and are members of Dunwoody Methodist Church.
